Hi, I don't see where you can purchase park hopper tickets for Disneyland. Are they automatic now?

    Hi there, Linda!

That’s a good question. I’m guessing you are familiar with the previous way tickets were purchased online. Well, times have changed, haven’t they? The new ticket purchase system has a different look and style.

When I first saw the current ticket purchase system in the Disneyland mobile app and on the Disneyland Resort website, it took me some time to get used to it. While it still sometimes throws me off, I like the way the ticket purchase system takes me through the choices to be made in simple steps:

    1. Choose a ticket offer. Those lucky Southern Californians currently have a special promotion available to them. The rest of us out-of-towners get to pick the standard theme park ticket offer.
    2. Choose the number of days you would like to visit the parks, one through five.
    3. Select the number of tickets to purchase, including separate counts for Guests ages 10+ and children ages 3-9. (Infants and toddlers ages 0-2, who must be accompanied by another Guest age 14 or older, don’t require a ticket.)
    4. Select whether you want to visit just one park per day or if you would like to buy Park Hopper tickets.
    5. On the next page, make theme park reservations by selecting the date or dates you plan to visit the theme parks from the list of available dates. Park reservations may usually be made up to 120 days in advance.
    6. Select the park for each day of your reservations. For Park Hopper tickets, you will book just the starting park and can then choose to hop over to the other theme park beginning at 1:00 PM, subject to availability.

Bonus Step: After you select your starting theme park for each day of your visit, you will have the opportunity to add the Disney Genie+ service to your tickets. If you choose, you may wait until you arrive inside the park each day to decide whether you will purchase the Genie+ service. Though, the lowest-price option will be to purchase Genie+ in advance at the same time as your ticket purchase.

Tony’s Tip: Some parties may have some members of their group who will park hop and other members who may not. Other parties may choose to purchase the Genie+ service for only some of the tickets. In other cases, members of a party may be visiting for a different number of days. It may be possible to add more ticket types to your cart on the website to accommodate such a mix of tickets. But to keep it simple, I recommend making purchases of different ticket types and durations in separate transactions. They will all still be linked to the purchasing account. And it is OK if different groups of tickets are tied to different park reservations.

I hope you have a great time at the Disneyland Resort, Linda. Please stop by planDisney again if you have any more questions.
