Hey Howdy Hey Daniel and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for stopping by with your question about
Theme Park Reservations. As this process has recently changed this year, I will be happy to review the details so you can better prepare for your upcoming trip.
You have it right so far Daniel, earlier this year, Disney announced that date-based Theme Park Tickets no longer needed reservations to get into the parks. Date-based tickets are the most commonly purchased when booking the Walt Disney World Resort vacation packages. If you bought your vacation package directly through Disney, these usually include date-based tickets.
That being said, you are right again, the morning you want to head to the parks let your conscience be your guide to the right park for the day. You can choose whichever park you feel you want to attend and you are all set to get in, pending capacity restrictions of course.
The recent change to park access also affected the details of
Genie+. The purchase of Genie+ will give you access to booking Lightning Lane Entry which are expedited queues for attractions in each park. If you did want to purchase Genie+, pricing and availability have changed as well. Genie+ is available for purchase by selecting which park you want this option to be available for. If you have the Park Hopper Option, you can also select, "multiple parks" from the options so you can book Lightning Lanes for any park you choose.
Best of luck as you continue to plan for your upcoming vacation. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach back out and let us know, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
