I don’t know how to plan my trip so that we can enjoy ourselves. Can someone walk me through it ?

Given its four theme parks, the plethora of hotels in the Disney Resorts Collection and hundreds of food service locations, planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation can be overwhelming, Tyresha. But when you take it one step at a time, everything falls into place. We’re happy to get you going in the right direction!

First things first, let’s choose a place to stay. My panelist friends and I have put together some tips that will help you choose the hotel that best suits your needs and preferences. When you’ve decided on a resort, be sure to check the Special Offers page for discounts.

As soon as you book your stay and purchase your tickets, you're going to want to create a My Disney Experience account and link your reservation. From there, you can schedule your theme park reservations and reference your vacation details in one place.

Next, it’s a good idea to put together a priority list for the theme parks you plan to visit. Start by checking out the attractions and experiences available and jot down the ones that most appeal to you.

With accommodations settled on and a priority list in place, you can start thinking about dining options. There are so many fabulous locations to choose from, both in the theme parks and resort hotels. Some of my favorite meals to include in my family’s itinerary are lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, snacks and drinks at The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge and dinner on the patio at The Polite Pig. Once you've made your selections, it's important to schedule your dining reservations (at the locations that accept reservations) 60 days in advance.

This year, trip planning should also include familiarizing yourself with the current health and safety guidelines that are in place. These are important things to know before you go!

Lastly, Tyresha, I recommend keeping a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog. It’s a great resource for learning about special events, limited time food and merchandise offerings and other theme park and resort updates.

I hope that helps, Tyresha. As you progress in your planning, stop by again if we can be of further assistance!
