    Hi! I don't even think we can afford to go, but I love planning:). What would you choose if you had to decide between hoop-d-do or fantasmic with grandparents and three boys ages 12,9 and 5. Thanks,

    Hi Michelle! I will be sending lots of pixie dust your way in hopes it will help your family to get a Disney vacation soon. In the meantime it is great to see that you are planning and learning about all that is available so once you have a date you can make great selections.

    I personally LOVE the Hoop Dee Doo Show at Fort Wilderness. I think it is the best dinner show offered on property and we attend it once a year if not more. It is fun and lively and although the skits are basically the same they are different because different actors and actresses are in the roles. It is a great place for kids as they are encouraged to make noise and participate and have fun. The food is family style and we love the chicken and ribs and all the "fixin's".

    While you are in Fort Wilderness you can visit the Disney stables where Cinderella's ponies are located as well as the big draft horses found in the Magic Kingdom. Your little one would even be able to likely take a pony ride for $5. There are height restrictions and I believe it is 48". You might also consider taking a carriage ride before or after the show and you can make reservations for this by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

    If you choose the early dinner show you also could walk down to the Chip and Dale Campfire Singalong held nightly where you can roast marshmallows and make s'mores and enjoy a 30 minute hoe-down with your favorite chipmunks.  This is followed by a movie under the stars if you wish to stay. Marshmallow kits and other snacks are available at the site.

    For all of these reasons I choose Hoop Dee Doo. Fantasmic is a show where you likely will sit far away and with hundreds of other guests!
