Hey there, Joy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort, but you want to remain “unplugged” and hands-free without a mobile device. How amazing! I think that is definitely a worthwhile pursuit, and will likely help you savor every magical moment. However, I understand that you would still like to stay connected, as you probably realize that there are many ways in which technology plays a role in a Walt Disney World Vacation.
I have several thoughts on this topic. For starters, I recommend that you make the most use of your
My Disney Experience account in advance of your trip. Link your
Resort Hotel Reservation, if you have one, and your Theme Park tickets to your account. As soon as you can, use the
Disney Park Pass System to make reservations to enter one Theme Park each day of your stay for which you have a Park Ticket. Once you can, make
FastPass+ reservations and dining reservations in advance. Within the “My Plans” section of your My Disney Experience account, you will also be able to add other non-reservation plans such as character experiences, firework shows, and entertainment as available. You can even make notes! Once you’ve completed your plans and are happy with them, go ahead and print them to bring along with you!
When you are in the Theme Parks, you may want to make changes to your FastPass+ reservations or even make additional reservations, one at a time, once you’ve used your original 3 FastPass+ selections. No cell phone? No problem! Just find the closest FastPass+ kiosk (conveniently labeled on all
Theme Park maps), tap your
MagicBand, and plan away!
Joy, I think the tips above can be easily implemented so you can feel like you will reap all the benefits of pre-planning for a Walt Disney World vacation while ensuring that you are not feeling required to bring a mobile device! I hope you find this helpful and know that we are here for you whenever we can help you make more magical plans!
See ya real soon!
