I don't believe in pasta carb loading, I prefer an well balanced carb/protein lifestyle all around. This is my first race out of town at night with the TOT10 Miler. Where do you suggest for a good prerace dinner that is easy on the tummy, with the DDP?

    Hi Jennifer!

Food plays a very important part of any race. It will play an even bigger role in the Tower of Terror 10-Miler because the race is at night.  My biggest suggestion is to practice eating what you plan to eat before the race.  On a day when you have a long training run, eat something you think you might do well with, and then go for your long run that night.  This way, it's a "dress rehearsal" for how you will feel on race day.

When you've established what will work (I like lean meats and a little pasta), then you can choose a restaurant.  You didn't indicate where you are staying or if you will be in a park, so my suggestion is to check out the restaurants either at your resort, or close-by resorts.  I like to be able to eat my dinner early, and go back to my room to relax for a bit before the race begins.

If you send me your resort name, or if you plan to be in a park, then I can offer you my suggestions for that particular location.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions, and good luck with your training!
