Hi Cheri and welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Resort at Walt Disney World! I just love sleeping under the stars, but knowing I'm so close to the magic. Listening to the train whistle from Magic Kingdom Park is the best way to wake up in the morning.
Trails End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness made a recent change and no longer offers a table-service option and is now considered
counter service. You can order your food and then sit at the tables that are inside the restaurant to eat. You can take it outside to eat at one of the picnic tables or take it back to your campsite or cabin. I haven't yet dined there since the switch, but I have had their fried chicken, mac & cheese and ribs a bunch of times and they are delicious! If you are planning on attending
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long one evening, bring your dinner over to the fire pit to enjoy while you listen to some familiar cowboy songs.
Another food option at Fort Wilderness is
The Chuck Wagon, usually located near the campfire area. It has delicious burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs and more. This is another great option for dinner at the campground.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
