Hi there, Diana, and welcome to planDisney!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is my favorite theme park for good reason. Areas like DinoLand U.S.A. have brought my family so much joy throughout the years: digging for dinosaur fossils at the Boneyard, enjoying my younger child’s first ever Disney ride at TriceraTop Spin, and endless rides on the now-closed Primeval Whirl. I’m also super excited for this land’s replacement: the Tropical Americas, which will take us through a journey through the Pueblo Esperanza (“Village of Hope”) and a tour through Casita with the Madrigals.
At the moment, there is no set timeline for the order in which attractions like
DINOSAUR and experiences like
Donald’s Dino-Bash! will permanently close or end. What we do know for sure, as announced at D23 2024, construction on the new Tropical Americas land will begin this fall in multiple phases. This means that there will still be some time to enjoy the attractions at DinoLand U.S.A. for a limited time. January will be here in no time, so I’d say that there is a chance that you’ll be able to live out your dream. However, you’ll want to have a solid backup plan because the land is definitely closing in the near future.
AN EXTRA GEM: Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog to be among the first to hear the closure dates for Donald’s Dino-Bash! and the other attractions and experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Remember that you can also meet Donald Duck at
Tusker House Restaurant in his exploration outfit—and you’ll get a yummy meal in the process.
As my pal Donald Duck said, “Happiness is the richest thing we will ever own.” So, I am wishing on a star that you’ll get to twin with Donald Duck in DinoLand U.S.A. very soon. If you have any additional Disney vacation questions,

Magic always,
