At the Dolphin swims can we leave our eye glasses on, or should we take them off. Will our faces be under the water? Is there a risk of the dolphins knocking them off? Thanks

    Ahoy, Charles!

I'm excited to hear you're planning a super fun Port Adventure for your family. Dolphin interaction excursions are so incredible, getting you up close and personal with one of nature's most beautiful ocean animals. It's a truly unforgettable experience, and you'll make amazing vacation memories!

While I don't know the specifics of the particular Port Adventure you're participating in, I can give you a general description of a dolphin interaction. If your excursion involves a deep-water swim, you'll have the opportunity to be propelled through the water by dolphins while holding onto a boogie board. This type of experience will definitely be something where you would want to remove your eyeglasses, due to the amount of water that will spray up around the board. You'll be in deep water, and they could possibly get knocked off. On other deep-water interactions, you'll be propelled through the water with a foot push, and will not have a boogie board. In both of these scenarios, I would suggest removing your eye wear. I encourage you to ask the dolphin trainers when you arrive if there are rules or restrictions for wearing glasses in the water.

If yours is more of a "dolphin interaction" type of adventure, you'll only be interacting with the dolphins in shallow water. We participated in this type of Port Adventure on our last cruise, and we didn't even get our hair wet. The dolphins swam up to us in shallow water, where we were allowed to pet, hug, and even kiss them for a cute photo. I wouldn't think that you should need to remove your glasses for this type of adventure.

I encourage you to take time to check out the photos they will take of you during your dolphin interaction - ours are some of our favorite Disney Cruise vacation souvenirs!

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have further questions before you set sail.

    Have a magical day! - Diane W.
