Welcome BACK, Kirk!
It's great to see you asking another great vacation planning question to us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, this time about
Walt Disney World Resort! There are
so many dining options and snack offerings that I like to say that Disney now doubles as an
Eat Park, too!
I've looked in to this, and I'm happy to report that most of the individual flavors of DOLE SOFT SERVE® that you can
currently find at Walt Disney World Resort are both dairy
and gluten free. Like you mentioned, these frozen treats are having a celebrity moment right now with so many great additional flavor combinations and social media share-worthy presentations being introduced often. When looking at these beautiful creations, these soft serve flavors by themselves are diary (and gluten!) free, though they may or may not be featured on any menus during the time of your visit to Mickey's house: Cherry, Lemon, Lime, Mango, Orange, Pineapple, Raspberry and Strawberry.
Some flavors like coconut, pumpkin and the cotton candy in the Arendelle Aqua Cone are freshly mixed into the very dairy vanilla soft serve. Sunshine Tree Terrace has two orangey options, both on their own are dairy free ('Citrus' is basically frozen orange juice) but not when "swirled" with vanilla. It is up to the inclusions of each themed treat that might deter the dairy free status, like any chocolate candy additions or syrup toppings. But you should be fine with any of the floats, as their liquid is usually juice or soda. And if anything, you should be able to order a plain cup of any of these flavors without all of their "extra stuff."
Some of these specialty snacks are limited-time releases, and are only around for a season, the release of a movie or a holiday. Definitely check out the "
Disney Dining" section of the Disney Parks Blog as they frequently post guides of this month's "Best Bites" or the "Sweat Treats" of the current season. And also keep your eyes peeled when passing
the following Disney Dining Locations for any fun Dole Whip additions not listed on their on-line or
in-App menus. (Bonus points for some options that are even on the boozy side!):
~ Aloha Isle
~ Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies
~ Marketplace Snacks
~ Pineapple Lanai
~ Pineapple Promenade during the
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival~ Refreshment Port
~ Storybook Treats
~ Sunshine Tree Terrace
~ Tamu Tamu Refreshments
~ Wine Bar George
I hope that this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Kirk, and We'll See You Real Soon!
