Never had Dole whip or Citrus Swirl? I see there is basic dole whip in vanilla, pineapple, or orange. SO is vanilla dole whip just vanilla ice cream? I see you can get it in a swirl or float also. Then I see Citrus swirl, is this an orange dole whip?

    Hi Brittany,

There seem to be two very divided camps when it comes to the battle of Dole Whips vs. Citrus Swirl for best frozen treat in Walt Disney World. I should say up front I am a huge devotee of the Citrus Swirl. It's my one must-have snack in all of Walt Disney World. The Citrus Swirl, which is only available at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom Park, is vanilla soft-serve and frozen orange juice swirled together in a sweet, tangy, and refreshing treat. You can order it as a float, but I'm a purist and prefer to savor my swirl in its simply glory. The orange component of a Citrus Swirl is not as creamy as it's Dole Whip counterpart. It truly is just like frozen orange juice and has a great, fresh flavor. It's so fresh, you may just consider the Citrus Swirl a breakfast food like I do.

The famous Dole Whip is a frozen treat, much like a pineapple sorbet. The stand also sells other soft-serve flavors, but they are not what would be considered a Dole Whip. Many people like to swirl their pineapple Dole Whip with the other soft-serve flavors or order it as a float. Instead of root beer or cola, Dole Whip floats are made with fresh pineapple juice.

I hope this helps clear up the dessert confusion, Brittany. I know I'm now craving a Citrus Swirl! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
