Hello, Andrew!
My family loves to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in October! We have found that it is usually still warm enough for us to enjoy the water parks without worrying about the huge crowds often found during the summer months. Keep in mind that the water parks do not use the FastPass+ system, so the Disability Access Service (DAS) is not honored there.
I suggest planning to arrive at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park as soon as it opens. Not only will you have a choice of areas for lounging, but you can also experience most attractions with little to no wait. By afternoon, the lines tend to become a little longer. You might find that this is the perfect time to enjoy some of the shaded areas or plan to have a late lunch.
You can either bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at Typhoon Lagoon or choose from several counter service restaurants that serve everything from sandwiches to salads to pizza. Be sure to stop by
Happy Landings Ice Cream for the famous
Sand Pail. Inside a plastic sand bucket, you will find chocolate and vanilla soft-serve ice cream topped with waffle cone pieces, cookies, hot fudge and caramel sauce, sprinkles, and cherries! It's sure to be a family favorite!
I hope this helps, and you have a magical October vacation! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions that may arise as you continue to plan your visit!
