Hello- We are doing the Walt Disney world half marathon in January and I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could help me with. 1. What time does the bus/shuttle service start? 2. Will the resort dinning room be open for breakfast race morning?

    Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Let me start with a big "way to go!" for your Walt Disney World Half Marathon! My wife and I are avid runDisney enthusiasts, and she has run in many of the half-marathons. The runDisney weekends are always so much fun. I think you'll love the high-energy support from fellow runners, all the chEAR Squad members, and all the fans.

Typically for runDisney half-marathon events, the transportation from the Walt Disney World Resort hotels begins around 3 a.m. Transportation schedules vary with events, and so my best suggestion is to check the Official Digital Event Guide which should be available online about a month before the event. When it comes to the question of Resort hotel dining being open, I think it can vary among the Resort hotels. Personally, and I'm simply speaking from our own experiences, we always make sure we prepare for what we'll want to eat before we head to the race transportation. We typically stop in to one of the Resort hotel markets the night before the half-marathon and pick up what we want. I can also share that food trucks are stationed at the event. My personal suggestion is that if you have a go-to regimen before your running events and prefer a specific breakfast, take time the day before to prepare so you have what you want when you want it. I'll also share that if you want a specific meal the night before your event, say a delicious Italian meal at Maria & Enzo's Ristorante, it's a great idea to make dining reservations in advance.

Benjamin, here's wishing you a great runDisney experience!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
