Hello, Candice!
Thank you for contacting planDisney. "Split stays" are a great way to experience multiple Disney Resorts Collection hotels at
Walt Disney World Resort! My family likes to spend a few days in a hotel near
EPCOT and another couple of days in a
Magic Kingdom area hotel. I also enjoy sampling the different food options when staying at more than one hotel during our vacation. There are so many great choices!
If you book two separate
vacation packages, then yes, the Park Hopper option needs to be added to each set of tickets. However, I have a different idea for you! I suggest purchasing theme park tickets that cover the entire length of your "split stay" with your first hotel reservation. Your theme park ticket days can extend beyond the length of your stay, up to a 10-day ticket. Then, make a room-only reservation for your second hotel (without tickets).
Another option is to add Park Hoppers to one set of
tickets and stick with One Park Per Day tickets for the other set. My family often stays in one park for the day to limit the time spent traveling between parks, especially when visiting Magic Kingdom Park. This choice does not provide the best value, though, as the price per day for theme park tickets generally decreases as you add more days. Purchasing the tickets with your first hotel reservation usually offers the greatest cost benefit.
Candice, I hope you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort! We hope to see you real soon!
You are the magic!
Jen
