Hello, Anna!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks for bringing us your question about the
Disneyland Resort. Your pixie-dusted vacation will be here before you can say “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!” I hope your family is looking forward to all the magic that awaits you at the Happiest Place on Earth.
It sounds like you’ve already heard about the
Rider Switch service, which allows Guests with small children to take turns experiencing
attractions. The little one in your party won’t be allowed to enter the queue if they don’t meet the height requirement for an attraction, even if you don’t intend for the child to ride, so your group will need to split up briefly to experience the attraction in shifts. I know this isn’t what you were hoping for, but there isn’t space for non-riders to wait in the attraction loading areas. For the safety and comfort of all, it's best if the supervising adult enjoys another part of the park nearby with the child while waiting for the first group of riders to return.
Luckily, there are dozens of attractions in both theme parks even the littlest Mouseketeers are bound to love that also allow your whole group to enjoy more time together. Some of my family’s favorites are “it’s a small world,”
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, Jungle Cruise, Pixar Pal-A-Round,
The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, and Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
I hope this helps, Anna. Please stop by with any other questions you can dream of as you put the finishing touches on your vacation plans.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
