I am doing the Princess Half Marathon. We had planned to stay at Wilderness Lodge. But now I see it is not one of the hotels that is providing transportation to the race. Do you think we should plan to stay at one of the participating hotels?

    Hi Diane,

Congratulations on making the commitment to train for the 2012 Princess Half Marathon!  I am truly impressed.

It does look like staying at one of the Host Resorts during the Princess Half Marathon would be the most hassle-free option for you.  Only these resorts will be offering direct transportation to Half Marathon events like the Princess Expo and the Half Marathon itself.  You certainly don't want to drive yourself to the Half Marathon because parking can be very difficult on the morning of the race.

If you have your heart set on staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and I can certainly understand why you would, then you also have the option of grabbing a short cab ride over to Disney's Polynesian Resort on race morning to catch the shuttle over to the race. (The Polynesian is one of the Host Resorts this year).  I called the folks at runDisney today to see if that would be possible and they said that option should work.

Best of luck in your training!
