If doing the pre fireworks dessert party, can we check in at 7:30 then leave to go watch the 7:45 starlight parade real quick before coming back to enjoy the desserts? Also, can we stay in garden plaza until the rush of people leaving clears?

    Welcome to planDisney, Brianna!

Oh, you are in for such a spectacular series of treats at Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party--it is absolutely one of my favorite events in all of Walt Disney World!

Click on the Dessert Party link above, then scroll down to find directions for checking in. You'll see that you should arrive 90 minutes prior to the start of Happily Ever After. You can confirm the start of this outstanding fireworks extravaganza by looking at the Magic Kingdom Park Calendar for the date of your visit. With a typical start time of 9:00, you should arrive at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant at 7:30. You'll be escorted to your reserved table where you can sit and enjoy a bite, drink, or make a quick trip to catch some of that beautiful Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. Just leave something on the table so that it's clear you've already been seated there. Since it is nighttime, I'll leave something on the table that I don't need with me when I head to the buffet: a baseball hat, water bottle, or inexpensive sunglasses.

Depending on where you are seated, you'll leave that reserved table area to visit the nearby bathroom or, if offered that night, pick up a freshly-made specialty right from the chef's station, so exiting and re-entering isn't a problem; just be sure to let Cast Members know that you'll be right back.

After enjoying the show from that very close VIP-feeling Plaza Garden, you can absolutely linger for a bit until many of the fireworks fans have made their way toward the exit. It is truly lovely!

Brianna, enjoy every magical moment of your nighttime visit to Magic Kingdom Park! As you continue planning your trip, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
