We are doing a 3 night Wish Bahama cruise. How do we schedule a SCUBA excursion for my wife and I?

Ahoy and welcome to planDisney, Danny! Looking for an adventure down where it's wetter... and better? I may have some really great news for you.

In exploring potential Port Adventures for my upcoming cruise, I was thrilled to have found Certified Scuba Dive at Stuart Cove, a new offering in Nassau. It had not been an option on my previous cruises to the Bahamas so I was absolutely floating with this news! Now, my onboard booking window opens next week (Can you feel my excitement?) so I will not know until then if this will be available on my particular cruise, but I have my calendar reminder set to find out as soon as possible. If it is, life is the bubbles!

If not, I will be looking at options for private dive tours. We have done this several times in Cancun and just last summer in Tortola. I started by calling my local dive shop and asking them for recommendations. It is such a close community, it is a great first step. You can also use search engines to find local options. You need to be mindful of the distance to the dive marina from the cruise port. I recommend searching for a shop that is familiar with cruise passengers. I like calling and hearing "We take cruise passengers all the time!" When I went with a shop I found on my own in Tortola, I read reviews specifically from cruise passengers. Since these are private adventures, you will want to know if it is a one- or two-tank dive, how far they are from the port, and how long their dives are to ensure you make it back for that all-important All Aboard time.

The Stuart Cove dive sounds amazing! Our dive in Tortola included two shipwrecks, which I just loved. I also loved Cancun, where we did a current dive and just coasted along with sea turtles. Hellllloooo, Crush!  Now your question has me even more excited thinking about my booking window next week and the time Under the Sea.

I hope you are able to find an option that works for you and your wife. Be sure to pack your dive card along with your travel documents! And please swim back by planDisney with any other questions.

    SEA 'Ya Real Soon!
