Hi Moms, we are doing an 8 night cruise from Port Caneveral returning on NY Eve, staying in Disney for 5 Ntts. Dont know if we should hire a car near the port or just get taxis everywhere. Also not sure where to stay!! I would like something nice :-)

What an awesome plan you've got brewing, Cara!

Sailing on a Very Merrytime Cruise will be an amazing experience for you and your family. You are bound to have the best holiday celebration while out on the high seas. It will be unforgettable for sure!

My family and I love doing Land and Sea (or vice versa) vacations. It will feel like the magic never ends! You can go on your magical cruise and then come home to one of the many Disney Resorts at Walt Disney World.

In July this year, we did just that! We sailed on the Disney Fantasy to the Caribbean, and then stayed a whole week at the newly remodeled Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It was a spectacular family vacation! This is a beautifully appointed hotel and you and your family will love it. It is within short distance to the Magic Kingdom via monorail or bus. And all other attractions can be reached just within minutes. This hotel really is in a great location.

You can take advantage of Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transportation service to take you from the Port to your Disney Resort. It is available for $35 per person each way. You can easily add this to your cruise reservation by calling the DCL travel desk at 1-800-951-3532. It's definitely the most convenient way to transport your family to and from Port Canaveral. Once you are at your Disney Resort, you'll have transportation choices available depending on where you'd like to go -- monorail, bus, boat or taxi. The free bus, monorail & boat services are convenient and these run all day 'til late at night. You won't need to worry about parking a car!

I hope this information helps, Cara. Please let us know if we can offer you any other assistance.

    Happy planning,
    ~ Dolly
