We are doing a multi-family trip next year, how does tipping work with larger parties on the dining plan? We will be a party of 9 so I'm not sure how the "large party gratuity" would work. We paid cash on our last trip (family of 4).

Hello Deborah! Welcome to back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My family went with friends on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation which required all of our Advanced Dining Reservations be made for 8 Guests. When I booked the Advanced Dining Reservations through My Disney Experience and the Walt Disney World Resort site, it was slightly more difficult to obtain exact times for the harder to get tables like Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella's Royal Table. With flexibility and taking advantage of being able to book up to 10 days of Advanced Dining Reservations beginning at the 180-day window of your Check-In date as a benefit for staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, we were able to get all of our first choice for Dining Locations.

While terms and conditions for Dining Locations vary, the most common provision in most of my Dining Experiences is that parties of 6 or more Guests are automatically charged an 18% gratuity for the table. This applies to the table regardless of how whether the bill is spilt up among the Guests or placed all on one bill.

Specific terms and conditions for each or your Advanced Dining Reservations can be found when you book online or in your confirmation email after successfully booking.

Gratuities are not included in the Disney Dining Plans.

    Bon Appétit!
