Doing Mickeys backyard BBQ on a day we will be at Epcot. What is the best way to get to there from Epcot and what time should we leave?

    Hi Rebecca,

You have a couple of options:

The quickest way would probably be to take the bus to Fort Wilderness.  From there, you'll need to transfer to one of the internal buses to get to the Pavilion.  I would leave Epcot 75-90 minutes before your reservation.

A more scenic route would be to take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center then transfer to a boat heading to Fort Wilderness.  When you arrive at the dock, the pavilion is just a few steps away.  If you go this route, plan on giving yourself 90 minutes to 2 hours of travel time.

Neither trip will take this long, but you want to arrive 30 minutes before your reservation to begin lining up. The beginning of the evening can seem chaotic & crowded.  If your kids are old enough to stay up late, stick around.  A lot of families with young children will leave after the first dance break.  As crowds thin out, you'll have more opportunity for character interaction!

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
