Welcome aboard planDisney! A Very Merrytime sailing on the Disney Fantasy sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate the season with your crew, so let's get those holiday outfits and pirate gear sorted out!
Sometimes Scrooge McDuck gets ahold of the entertainment schedule and decides to make things interesting, so I do recommend hopping onto your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard to confirm the final times and locations. Hopefully the holiday spirits will keep him in line, though! With that, here is the current plan for your sailing:
• Day 1 (Port Canaveral) – Cruise Casual
• Day 2 (Castaway Cay) – Cruise Casual
• Day 3 (Lookout Cay) – Optional Dress-Up Night and Mickey & Minnie's Holiday Party
• Day 4 (Nassau) –
Pirate Night• Day 5 (At Sea) – Cruise Casual
So, yes, your five-night sailing does have an optional dress-up night, and it happens to fall on the same night as
Mickey & Minnie's Holiday Party. Since the dress-up portion is optional, you can absolutely decide what works best for your crew. You'll see Guests dressed in everything from cruise casual to their holiday best, and there's no wrong answer.
My crew and I actually like to spend the day of the holiday party wearing matching pajamas. There are usually some fun holiday-themed photo backdrops set up in the Atrium, and the matching pajamas just seem to make some great family photos. If the fireplace backdrop and some pictures with Santa are available, that fits our style perfectly.
I know this is the same night as the scheduled dress-up night, but don't feel like you have to dress up if that's not your thing. You can go with matching pajamas, keep things casual, wear a festive holiday sweater, or get dressed up for the evening. I've seen Guests do all of the above, and the Very Merrytime atmosphere makes just about anything feel festive.
I hope this helps you get your suitcase ready for both the holiday magic and the pirate festivities! Between Mickey and Minnie bringing the holiday spirit on Day 3 and the pirates taking over on Day 4, your Fantasy sailing has a pretty great one-two punch of Disney fun.
