Boo to you, Michelle!
Welcome to planDisney, and a happy Halloween season to you and yours. As a mom of two young boys and a lover of all-things Disney Halloween, I'm just the ghoul to help you out. Let's see what magical tips I can stir up for you in my cauldron...
First, visiting Magic Kingdom Park on Halloween a couple of years ago was one of the best days I've ever spent there! Although I'm a huge fan of
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (and go every single year because it's that awesome), you won't be disappointed with spending the day at the theme park with your kiddos.
No doubt, your toddlers will enjoy seeing the theme park decked out with Mickey-Mouse-shaped pumpkins and fall-themed garlands and wreaths. The
PhotoPass photographers can capture those fall memories down Main Street, U.S.A. and beyond.
Now, let's talk costumes! To really get into the spirit, keep in mind that children under the age of 14 can dress up in costumes all year. One Halloween day at Magic Kingdom Park, my little boos wore Woody and Alien (from the
Toy Story franchise) costumes. They loved being in character all day and riding the attractions as their favorite characters. Some of the Cast Members even referred to my kiddos by their character names. I boo-hooed with joy!
Most of the Halloween fun at Magic Kingdom Park is at the after-hours, separately ticketed party, like meeting the Seven Dwarfs and seeing Winnie the Pooh and friends in their costumes. But I recommend that you take a spin on the
Haunted Mansion attraction (friendly ghosts only) and check out the Halloween-themed merchandise and special Halloween snacks around the theme park.
AN EXTRA GEM: There aren't any trick-or-treating opportunities during the day at the Most Magical Place on Earth; however, when my boys and I visited for Halloween in 2020, we made the most of our day with our own goody bags and gathered tasty treats from shops like
Main Street Confectionary and
Big Top Souvenirs. Also, Michelle, if you have a theme park ticket with a
Park Hopper option or want to spend a day at another theme park, I highly recommend having lunch or dinner with Minnie Mouse and her boo-tiful crew at the character dining restaurant
Hollywood & Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They show off their Halloween costumes, and your kiddos can chat with them and get their autographs. Also, you can
meet Vampirina at the Animation Courtyard at the same theme park. So, there's a lot to do during the day there if you can't make it to the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom Park but still want a taste of the spooky fun.
Michelle, I hope that you have the most spooktacular Halloween. I can feel it in my bones that this year's celebration is going to be your family's best yet. If you have any other questions as the days slip by, have no fear, and
ask a question to one of our happy haunts here at planDisney.
Magic always,
LeAndra
