We will be doing a Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom. If our boarding group to TRON is called before the tour is over, would we be able to do TRON right after the tour concludes? Thank you!

    Welcome, Heidi!

How exciting, your vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort is just around the river bend! I love hearing about your fabulous plans for a very special day at Magic Kingdom Park. Like you, I often think ahead and brainstorm various scenarios as to how things will occur so that I can proactively problem solve. Hakuna matata - let’s get to it, together!

While I cannot predict exactly what will happen, as these decisions are made by the specific Cast Members working the attraction that day, I can share my own understanding through different examples and hopefully ease your mind. If your boarding group is called to return to TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise while you are on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, my first piece of advice is to take a screenshot of the notification and virtual queue screen on your smartphone. Then, continue to enjoy and engage on the wonderful tour to fully absorb everything it offers during the 5-hour experience. When the tour concludes, I suggest you use the following resources to see what can be done to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run.

First, your Keys to the Kingdom Tour Guide will be a great advocate for you. Please let them know of this conflict during a break, meal, or at the end of your tour. They will be glad to provide detailed guidance but this way you aren’t disrupting other Guests during the active tour itself. They may be able to resolve the issue for you or help direct you to the next attractions Cast Member for a resolution.

Next, the Guest Experience Team is an amazing resource right inside Magic Kingdom to support needs such as this. Find them under the blue umbrellas – across from the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, across from Casey’s Corner facing Main Street, U.S.A, in Tomorrowland near Tomorrowland Speedway, and outside the entrance to Storybook Circus. They can provide detailed guidance, and I suggest you be clear about your Keys to the Kingdom Tour time conflicting with the virtual queue boarding group number when you approach them.

Finally, the attractions team at TRON Lightcycle / Run will make the final decision to enable you to enter the queue after your group has been called once you speak with them. This may depend on the weather, the current queue length, and other unpredictable factors but I have faith and trust that they'll be empathetic to your situation.

In my varied experience of conflicting plans, Disney is always willing to help me have a magical time. Particularly in scenarios like this where you reserved a special experience like a guided tour but cannot control when the virtual queue will be called. This has happened to me a few times with dining reservations and virtual queues, and it’s always been resolved in my favor to enjoy the attraction at a delay. There’s a bit of pixie dust involved here but please know that in this whole new world of theme park planning, we can’t control everything, and some exceptions are certainly possible.

As always, a positive attitude and open mind are the best things to pack for a practically perfect park day! I have confidence this potential conflict will be resolved with a smile, and you’re going to have an incredible time on this thrilling new coaster in Tomorrowland.

Wishing you a practically perfect vacation,
    Amy
