Hi Christopher,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! First, I'm so excited you are going to
Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park. I have attended this event a few times and I highly recommend it. There is nothing like walking through a quieter park and enjoying your favorite attractions with lower wait times! I also like the sound of your transportation plan. When we visit Walt Disney World Resort, we try to use every form of
resort transportation available.
I do have to include some words of caution when trying to guess how long your chosen route will take. First, there are so many variables we cannot account for. This is truly a ballpark guess. I hope the time it actually takes you lands somewhere in the same ballpark! Second, you will need park admission to walk through Epcot to get from the
Disney Skyliner Station at the International Gateway to the
Monorail station at the front of the park. I'll share an alternative if you need it!
Everyone has a different walking pace so for these time estimates we will assume a casual walking pace. I won't even try to guess the timing of your rideshare transportation so let's begin at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. From the lobby, it will be a 5 to 10-minute walk to the Disney Skyliner Station. Disney Skyliner is constantly loading so even if there is a line to board, it will be quick. After 5 to 7 minutes you will disembark at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and transfer to the Epcot line. Again, there may be lines to board but they should be quick. From Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to the International Gateway will take 15 to 20 minutes.
Once you disembark at the International Gateway, you will need to allow time to pass through security and enter Epcot. The walk from the International Gateway to the front gates should take 15 to 20 minutes. Remember, we are walking at a casual pace. Hopefully, there will be a monorail boarding when you arrive at the station. If not, you may have to wait a bit. You will take the Monorail from Epcot to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you will transfer to the Express Monorail to the Magic Kingdom Park. The Epcot leg will take 15 to 20 minutes and the Express Monorail will take around 5 minutes.
If your Fairy Godmother is watching and waving their wand, I believe you are looking at an hour and a half at a minimum. I would plan to have at least two hours to reach your destination. For Disney After Hours, you can enter Magic Kingdom Park at 7 P.M. so I would plan accordingly.
Oh, and if you don't have a park admission to use to walk through Epcot, once you disembark at the International Gateway you could walk to
Disney's Beach Club Resort or
Disney's BoardWalk Inn and take a bus to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park. I don't think it would change your estimated times.
Christopher, thank you for stopping by with your question. I hope you'll let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
