Hi Caryn,
Welcome to planDisney! From one Ontarian to another, I'm thrilled to chat about race day logistics for the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend - especially as a fellow
runDisney fan! I ran in my first
runDisney race a few years ago with one of my daughters and had the best time running through the theme parks and roads of
Disney World. Running through the theme parks and along Disney World’s scenic roads with my daughter was unforgettable, and despite the early wake-up call, the electrifying energy from runners and spectators made every step worth it!
You're going to love staying at
Disney's Pop Century Resort. The vibrant theming, nostalgic touches and easy access to the
Disney Skyliner make it a fantastic place to stay. While the Skyliner's the perfect way to travel to Hollywood Studios, you will need to take the bus to get to the starting line. On race day, Disney Resort Hotels offer a shuttle that takes runners to the corrals. These shuttles begin transporting athletes before 3 AM - the schedule will be available in the
Digital Expo & Event Guide but you can also check with a Cast Member at the Front Desk. The buses will continue to operate until after the event finishes (it tends to be an hour after the race finishes).
Planning to visit the theme parks after your race? Be sure to bring your park ticket - and don’t forget to wear your medal! My daughter and I loved celebrating our run with a PhotoPass photoshoot in the parks. It’s the perfect way to capture the magic of your accomplishment!
I hope this information is helpful to your planning, Caryn. Wishing you a fantastic race and a royally fun weekend!
Enjoy making magical memories,
Candace
