We are doing our first Disney cruise on the Dream at the end of August. We have 3 kids - our son is 7 1/2, daughters 3 1/2 & 1 1/2 - I have seen some videos that suggest the Pirate Night deck party may be a little "scary" - is it appropriate

    Welcome aboard, Kristen!

How wonderful to hear that you'll be sailing on the Disney Dream in just a short few weeks. You and your kids will have such a blast. At this age, your children make perfect buccaneers and they'll surely be talking about this adventure for a long time. They are definitely going to be very engaged and busy with the various activities at the Youth Clubs, so make sure that you have a little bit of rest and relaxation as well. As you already know, there's something for everyone on the Disney Cruise.

The Pirates IN the Caribbean deck party is a much awaited event on all the Disney ships. Swashbuckling fun awaits your whole family. This signature event transports you into a night of fun family-friendly entertainment. It is enjoyed by cruisers of all ages and even the littlest ones have a blast, as they watch the many Disney Characters making their appearances in their special pirate gear. To top off the evening, the fireworks show is spectacular! The party is best enjoyed up on the decks, since there will be lots of dancing. My little 2 year old niece was just dancing on the stage (well, more like jumping) the whole evening. She loved copying dance moves and she was such a joy to watch. I'm sure you and your children will have a fabulous time at Pirate Night. Don't forget to come prepared with pirate gear. It can get a little expensive on board - so I encourage you to shop around your local party supplies store for any pirate themed accessories that you can pack with you. Maybe you'd also like to check out Pirate costumes online - there will be lots of photo opportunities, and your kids will feel very at ease seeing their fellow buccaneers on board.  Hope that helps!

    Bov voyage!
