Doing the Dumbo Double Dare challenge in September. What does the "allotted time" mean? Does this have to be under a certain time or just fast enough that you don't get swept and actually cross the finish line?

    Hi Kelly!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm not exactly sure where you see the phrase "allotted time", but I am guessing it is referring to the fact that runners need to keep an overall 16-minute mile pace.

There will be pacers that begin the race after the very last runner.  They will ride along at the 16-minute mile pace.  If they get in front of you, it is possible that you will be picked up by a van and transported back to the finish area.  Starting in a higher corral, and even positioning yourself at the front of the last corral (if that's where you're placed) can give you a bit of a cushion of time ahead of the pacers.

It is highly recommended that you train your runs at a 15-minute mile or faster pace.  That pace will allow you to have some fun and stop for photos on the course.

You can find more answers to Frequently Asked Questions on the runDisney website.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
