We will be doing the dolphin encounter at Epcot. What should we bring or not bring, and what should we expect? The info online is a bit vague. Also, is there a list of rides that are available during the morning extra hours? I know some are not.

    Hi Mindy,

It’s wonderful to see you again at planDisney; thank you for trusting our advice! I’m so excited to hear you have reserved the special experience of the EPCOT Seas Adventures – Dolphins in Depth for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Let’s dive into the details and see what you can expect for this unique activity from the Enchanting Extras Collection. Please meet at Guest Relations at the main entrance to EPCOT at least 15 minutes before your planned dolphin adventure.

This exclusive animal encounter is limited to just eight Guests per day, so you’re in for a treat! It’s specifically advised to wear a bathing suit for this activity, but not to wear one en route to the location. There are complimentary lockers available with a safe place to secure extra belongings or anything else you’d need later for your theme park day when you change. Towels and shower toiletries are also available for your use. Jewelry of any kind is prohibited in the aquarium. Short wetsuits that fit over your swimwear are provided in a wide range of sizes to accommodate your comfort for wading in the water.

You’ll be positioned safely on a shelf of the pool with the dolphin trainers to learn about and interact with these gentle creatures but won’t be fully swimming with them in the tank during the two-hour adventure. When you are getting ready and being escorted to the experience, you are in a “backstage” area – a secure area reserved for Disney Cast Members and not Guests, so photography and videography is strictly prohibited. Photos and videos are encouraged during the experience itself though so be sure to have the right device handy. You are sure to have an unforgettable time interacting with these amazing dolphins!

As for early theme park entry, please see the full list of available attractions at each theme park. My family loves to be one jump ahead of the crowds with this magical benefit of staying at an eligible hotel. Most of the key attractions are available, and I suggest you prioritize a few favorites to hit first and then see where the day takes you!

I hope this helps ease your mind and know more of what to expect for this special dolphin encounter at EPCOT and to make the most of your early theme park entry. Please don’t be a stranger here at planDisney if you have any additional questions – we love to help you have the best vacation ever!

    Life is the bubbles!
