Hi Dennis!
I love that you are trying to maximize every minute of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation by minimizing time spent in queues waiting to order food. I'm happy to share some suggestions with you.
When my family visits the Disney theme parks, we rise early so that we can enter the parks at opening time. This allows us to conquer many attractions while the lines are short. We bring a portable breakfast (granola bars, bagels, etc.) so that we don't waste those precious morning hours sitting down and having breakfast. (We do, however, have a leisurely breakfast on the morning we set aside to shop at
Disney Springs.)
Since we eat a light breakfast early, we are ready for lunch at 11 a.m. and this helps us beat the lunch crowds. Popular quick-service restaurants get very busy between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. so ordering your meal prior to 11:30 a.m. can definitely save you time. Similarly, if you have your evening meal either before 5 p.m. or after 8 p.m., you will spend less time waiting to place your order at a quick-service restaurant.
Mobile ordering can expedite the process too.
Of course, you can eliminate most of the wait by making advance dining reservations at a table-service restaurant. You can call (407) WDW-DINE, or (407) 939-3463, up to 180 days in advance to secure a time to dine. With a reservation, your wait to be seated will be minimal. Of course, a table-service meal takes a bit longer to enjoy, but I have found that is time well spent with your family members.
If you need any suggestions for fabulous restaurants, just let us know. My friends and I at the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to discuss dining at Walt Disney World Resort.
Bon appétit,
Jill
