After doing some calculations, it would make sense to purchase a dining plan for my daughter, but not for myself of my mom. Does the entire family need to be on a Dining plan? Also wondering if we can only add for portion of trip?

    Welcome BACK, Monica!

How exciting that you're planning a vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Be sure to keep up with the Disney Parks Blog for all of the newest Walt Disney World Resort news!

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel have the option to add a Disney Dining Plan to their most magical vacation. Dining plans are great because they turn a trip to meet Mickey into a more inclusive vacation experience as all of your meals and snacks are already covered upon your arrival. Sometimes a vacation can be that much more relaxing when you don't have to worry about menu math!

Disney Dining Plans are based on the total number of nights of your Disney Resort Hotel stay. Also, everyone in the same guest room reservation must purchase the same level of plan, with the exception of those who are under the age of three-years-old.

One of my favorite Dining Plan alternatives is buying Disney Gift Cards. I only know of one dining location at all of Walt Disney World Resort that doesn't accept these cards, the AMC Theatre at Disney Springs. Look for gift card deals at warehouse club stores where the card value is higher than what you'll pay; check for gift card promos at your local grocery store; and even check if your points-based credit cards have Disney Gift Cards in their points portals. Bonus tip: You can also pay off all dining, snack and souvenEAR purchases made to your MagicBand with Disney Gift Cards by stopping by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort Hotel the night before your check-out day.

We'll See You Real Soon, Monica!
