Hi Melissa! Welcome back to planDisney!
Some of my very favorite visits to the Walt Disney World Resort have been
big, multi-family vacations. It’s a wonderful way to spend time together and create magical memories that will make you smile for years to come. I’m so excited for all of you!
My most recent visit to the Walt Disney World Resort was one of these trips, and we stayed in two,
2-bedroom villas at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Those 2-bedroom villas sleep 9 adults: the master bedroom sleeps two, the second bedroom sleeps four (in two queen beds), and the living room has a sleeper sofa that can sleep two, plus a sleeper chair that both my kids loved. These villas have two bathrooms and a full kitchen, which allowed us to save money by making meals back in our villa. I loved spending mornings on the balcony drinking coffee with my mom and taking in the beautiful views at this tranquil resort.
As a military family, you have access to the
military promotional offer on resort hotel rooms. While the 2022 offer hasn’t been released yet (it’s typically announced each fall), you could call (407) 939-1936 to get a sense of pricing. Please note that pricing is subject to change and availability tends to be limited under this offer. I’ve found Deluxe Villa accommodations available under the military discount at fantastic prices in the past, and I hope you do too. Generally, Disney’s Old Key West and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are the most affordable of the villas.
You can take a look at Deluxe Villa layouts and prices online (you’ll only be able to see regular rates and current special offers; military resort reservations can only be made by phone at this time) to see if this works with your plans and budget. If not, you could look at the Family Suites at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Note, though, that those sleep 6, so you would need to reserve three suites for your family. Other accommodations for larger families include the
Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort or the
Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. I recommend taking a look through the photos and details on the Disney Resorts Collection web pages to get a sense of options. There are also lots of bloggers who post room tours and photos; YouTube is a great destination for these. If you look at the planDisney Instagram page, you can see resort hotel room tours on our story highlights.
Last but not least, I hope you’ll take a look at the Panel Extras page, where your friendly planDisney panelists share
our tips for choosing a resort hotel. We’re always here to help, so please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you make plans for this epic family vacation next year!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
