Hi. We are doing the Baha bay waterpark for the Nassau day. Does anyone know if you can leave the waterpark early to go back to the ship? I am taking a 3 year old and 10 month old and am worry that 6 hours in the waterpark will be too much.

    Ahoy, Heather!

Welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you're planning to make a splash at Baha Bay Waterpark during your stop in Nassau, and what a great way to cool off and enjoy a day in paradise! With a 3-year-old and a 10-month-old in tow, I completely understand wanting a little flexibility—it’s important to keep those tiny Mouseketeers happy and rested!

Now, let’s dive into the details like Scrooge McDuck into his money bin. While this Port Adventure is booked through Disney Cruise Line, it’s important to know it’s actually operated by an independent contractor. So if you decide to head back early, Disney won’t be the one coordinating your return—meaning you’ll likely be responsible for your own transportation back to the ship.

That said, the good news is yes, you can typically leave early—but with a few considerations. Your Port Adventure guide is your go-to Cast Member for the day and is responsible for the whole group. It’s always a good idea to let your guide know before you go off on your own, so they aren’t sending out a royal search party (à la Prince Charming and the glass slipper) when it’s time to do a headcount. In some cases, the tour may offer multiple return times to the ship, but this varies and isn’t guaranteed—so be prepared just in case you need to make your own way back to the pier.

And speaking of preparing like a pro—since this Port Adventure includes lunch, it's worth knowing the menu may not always match your little one’s taste buds. My family’s secret weapon? Those magical Uncrustables! If they’re available, we ask our Dining Team to freeze a few the night before, which makes them perfect to pack for excursions. They're a lifesaver for little tummies that prefer the familiar over the adventurous.

One more tip from my own sailing crew: with little ones, sometimes six hours of water-filled fun can feel more like six years—so don’t be afraid to build in breaks, find some shade, and enjoy the slower moments in between all the splashy excitement. After all, even Moana had to take a breather on her voyage across the sea.

I hope your day at Baha Bay is filled with giggles, splashes, and maybe a nap or two (for everyone)! Sending pixie-dusted wishes for a practically splash-perfect adventure and a smooth sail back to the ship!

Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
    Dustin
