Hi there, Deborah!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for you and your upcoming back-to-back sailings! I love back-to-backs because you get to experience all the fun TWICE!! Plus, if you miss anything the first week, you’ve got the perfect opportunity to catch up on it the second week! With
so much to do onboard and at port, I guarantee you will find plenty to keep you busy the entire time!
We have often cruised out of
Miami but fly in/out of Ft. Lauderdale due to airline convenience. We have used both a service such as Uber or Lyft to get us to the Port of Miami, but recently we have found that renting a car was just as easy – and even more cost effective for our family. We used the opportunity of having our own vehicle to stop at a store on our way to Miami to grab some water and wine to carry onboard with us. On previous trips with a driver we were unable to get them to stop (without a pretty hefty additional stop charge), so this has proven to be incredibly helpful to us. Otherwise, I would say to book a reservation with another company with a set fare from the Fort Lauderdale airport to the Port of Miami so that you aren’t surprised with any extra charges!
Obviously the same goes for the return to the airport; renting a car has been perfect for us because if we have a later flight we can drive around so we aren’t sitting at the airport all day waiting. But, if you have an earlier flight a taxi or an Uber may be a great option to get you back there as soon as you disembark!
Wishing you a wonderful and MAGICal time on your back-to-back sailings!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
