Hi there, Kerry!
As a pet parent myself, I'm so doggone glad you stopped by planDisney with your question! I recently visited Mickey Mouse's house at Disneyland Resort and noticed he had several framed photos of Pluto displayed in his home, so I have a strong inkling that your plan to bring your four-legged family along for your magical vacation would have Mickey's stamp of approval as well.
While the Walt Disney World Resort website indicates that furry Guests of
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort will receive a Welcome Kit from Pluto upon arrival, it does not mention the Campsites, so I reached out to a helpful Cast Member who verified that like The Cabins,
The Campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort are also part of Walt Disney World Resorts pet-friendly hotels. As a result, Campsite Guests will happily be greeted with a complimentary
Pluto’s Welcome Kit as well. All you need to do is let the Concierge Team know about your canine companion upon arrival.
You'll be delighted to hear that even if they check into Doggy Daycare while you are enjoying Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, your pup will still be treated as a Guest of the Disney Resort Hotel each day upon return. In fact, one of my best girls checked into
Best Friends Pet Hotel while my husband and I were enjoying a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and was so spoiled we were unsure if she'd be willing to return home with us unless we promised to maintain the practice of treating her to a midday ice-cream break.
Since your dog can't join you in Magic Kingdom Park, you might consider bringing a bit of the pixie dust to them. I recently spotted some great apparel, accessories, and toys for pets at the
Emporium, so as avid theme park snackers, my husband and I selected Mickey waffle, ice cream, and pretzel chew toys for our trio of canines who received them as if they were enjoying them on Main Street, U.S.A.
I hope this was helpful, Kerry, and that you have a paw-some vacation. If any additional questions arise as you are planning, you're barking up the right tree, so feel free to stop back by.
I'm always happy to help!Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
