Hiya Drew,
Welcome to planDisney! Like my pal Mickey Mouse, I firmly believe that pets are family. My pup Sloopy has been to Walt Disney World Resort several times, and I love that he is along for the ride. I also love that dogs can stay with you at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. The resort is beautiful and has so much green space around that it is a treat for four-legged friends. Be sure to check out the
dog policies before your visit to prepare for your dog’s best trip ever!
Thank you for your question about vaccinations! I spoke to a Cast Member, and they informed me that to stay at a dog-friendly Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, your dog is required to have the following vaccinations: rabies, canine distemper, parovirus, adenovirus (canine hepatitis), parainfluenza, and Bordetella. You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination when you check-in.
I hope this was helpful, Drew! Before I let you go, since dogs are not allowed to be left unattended for more than seven hours in your resort hotel, you may want to look into dropping your pal at
Best Friends Pet Care if you are planning to be at the Theme Park from rope drop to park close. Your dog can have an opportunity to interact with other pets and also avoid being cooped up in the room. Our favorite part is that we could go back and visit him during the day and take him for a walk! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
