Hot Dog, Guizela!
Thanks for barking by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Our dog Hamish (named after one of
Merida’s triplet brothers) is, without question, a family member! So I completely understand your wish to have your dog with you while you enjoy the Parks. If your pup is a certified service dog, they are more than welcome to join you at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But, if your dog is an emotional support animal or just your beloved pet, they won’t be able to play in the Parks with you.
A
service animal is “a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability.” Service animals are welcome in almost all areas throughout the Parks and Resorts. They must remain on leash and under the control of their owners at all times. There are several attractions that your dog can accompany you in
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as four Relief Areas for your pup.
Currently, emotional support dogs/pets are not covered under the service animal umbrella, and therefore not permitted in the Parks or most of the Resort properties. But, if you are planning to stay on property, there are
four dog-friendly Resorts for your beloved canine family member. If your dog is not a service animal, I would suggest they spend the day at
Best Friends Pet Care, which is a Walt Disney World Resort Pet Boarding facility. I’ve visited the Center, and it looks like
nirvana for pets! They offer first-rate accommodations as well as treats and activities. Your puppy won’t want to be picked up at the end of the day!
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. Paws up for a fabulous vacation!
