Doesn't WDW celebrate it's 45th anniversary on October 1, 2016? Will there be any special events scheduled to happen at the park on that day or even that week?

Hello Karen, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this interesting question.

Karen, you are correct, Walt Disney World Resort does indeed celebrate its 45th anniversary, which is so exciting! There have been many enhancements at Walt Disney World Resort through the years from the time it officially opened with Magic Kingdom Park on October 1, 1971.  EPCOT Center, now, Epcot, joined as the second Theme Park on October 1, 1982, and since then the expansion with two more Theme Parks- Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, two water parks- Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach, Disney Resort Hotels and Vacation Villas, Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports, and much more, has kept Guests returning year after year.

May I suggest you follow the Disney Parks Blog, which is the official blog for Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line for the latest, official information about Disney destinations. The contributors also write informative pieces about the behind-the-scenes looks at the uniqueness of the Disney Parks. I look forward to my daily blog posts from the Disney Parks Blog.

I hope this information can be of use to you Karen, we thank you for consulting us, and look forward to assisting you in the near future.

Wishing you a positively, magical day.
