Welcome to planDisney Melissa. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
I would first love to take the opportunity to thank your family for its service and sacrifice to our great nation. When my brother-in-law was serving overseas coming home for leave was a big deal. There is no official Disney service to help with a military surprise. But I do have some creative ways to add to your family’s special visit. The first one that comes to mind is on Main Street U.S.A. Most guests stop and take a picture with
Cinderella Castle in the background, and one recommendation is to have your husband waiting and when he sees the family start to pose for the
PhotoPass Cast Member he can enter the picture and I am sure the Cast Member will capture that very special moment perfectly. Another great way if you are looking for a more intimate surprise is have him check in ahead of you and wait in whichever
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel you choose. He may be able to set up a cellphone or other device to record the beginning of this special visit.
My family enjoys swimming and most of the pools are amazing. Pool days are like rest days for us when visiting. These are days when you and the family can truly reconnect. Most resorts have terrific pool options and a couple have always impressed me.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is in my opinion one of the most underrated pool resorts. When you visit The Big Blue Pool you are looking at the largest pool in all of
Walt Disney World Resort. It is inspired by Finding Nemo. It has an interactive play that is perfect for little ones. If you aren’t looking for the giant pool and want something a tad quieter there are other smaller just as awesome. The Cozy Cone Pool and Flippin’ Fins Pool are usually available for guests to cool off. All service and family members should take a look at the
Shades of Green website to make sure you take advantage of the special rates available.
I hope this information helps you plan your surprise. Visit us at
