Hey Brenda!
Welcome to planDisney! We are thrilled you have a Disney cruise on the books for next year. I say there’s nothing better than having a trip on the horizon. Hopefully you have a countdown calendar going to anticipate it even more. (FYI: the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app has a great one).
Not knowing which itinerary you are sailing, I can simply point you to the
Passports, Visas and Travel Documentation page on the Disney Cruise Line website to find out what documents your 12-year-old will need. Generally, an original or copy of a state-issued birth certificate is enough, but certain sailings do require a passport. If you want to send in a follow up question with details about your sailing, I would be happy to respond with precisely what documents you need.
Additionally, you will also need to provide proof that your tween has been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. That can be uploaded to the
Safe Passage portal under your login; a parent or legal guardian must use their own account to submit test results or proof of vaccinations on behalf of minors. This can be done as early as 15 days before your sail date.
I hope this helps you navigate the pre-cruise documentation waters and has you excited about setting sail with Captain Mickey! We would love to be your first mate if you think of anything else before your spring voyage.
SEA ya real soon!
