Hi DM Panel, How late is too late to enter a park and get your money's worth for the ticket price? We should get to the Pop Century resort by 12:30pm on Oct. 19th with 5yr old son on first Disney trip. So park, DD area or poolside? Thanks.

    Hello,

Normally, I would not recommend spending money on Park admission on the first day of your trip...or rather on your arrival day.  This is especially true for myself as I have a very long flight and unless I do the redeye (which is not pleasant at all!) I normally don't arrive until late at night anyways.  When I give advice to other families, I normally tell them to use what time they have on their arrival day to unpack, visit Downtown Disney or other WDW Resorts, have something to eat and yes! a swim in the pool is a nice way to relax (and a fun start for the kids) when you first get there.  Then try to get to bed fairly early and up early the next day (fresh as a daisy) to start experiencing the real magic!  However, in your case, you will be arriving fairly early and you are not traveling that long of a distance so if you think your 5 year old can handle it (and won't have a meltdown) then you should have time to get in a Park day on your day of arrival (I don't think I would recommend it though!).  Just take it easy, don't rush anything, let things naturally fall into place and I am sure you will all have a fabulous time.

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
