Greetings Lauren!
I'm so happy you brought your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Walt Disney and Disneyland history is extremely fascinating, and I just love learning more and more each time I visit the Disneyland Resort. I'm glad you mentioned you already took the "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Tour, because this is usually my number one tip for guests with your passion. Another wonderful tour is
The Grand Circle Tour offering an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at the history of the Disneyland Railroad. Currently this tour is also the only way you can hop aboard the famous Lily Belle parlor car. You can schedule this experience up to 30 days in advance by calling (714) 781-8687.
For a history buff like yourself, a stay at the
Disneyland Hotel would be the perfect fit. This hotel is a classic Disneyland icon and part of Walt's Disneyland dream. As a Guest of this hotel, you can sign up for the complimentary "Happiest Hotel on Earth" walking tour which will point out many historical features of this hotel!
Another favorite area of mine to see original Disneyland artifacts is at the Opera House in Town Square of Disneyland Park. Here at
The Disneyland Story you will find very rare treasures, models, and art from the earliest days of the Happiest Place on Earth. I personally love seeing the littlest pieces of Disneyland history, for example, a sample menu from Disneyland Hotel in the 1960's.
I hope you have fun exploring and learning more about this amazing destination. Have a magical day!
