Hey, Rhiannon! Happy New Year and welcome to planDisney.
I'm so glad that you stopped by with your question. It's great to hear that you and your family are all headed to
The Happiest Place on Earth soon. This is absolutely the best way to kick-start the new year. As "seasoned Disney veterans," you'll know that the nighttime spectaculars are an important ingredient to the magic. My family visited this past summer and we have fond memories of watching Disneyland Forever, World of Color, and Fantasmic! We even had the pleasure of catching the Main Street Electrical Parade.
Disneyland is always evolving. That means that shows are sometimes replaced with new ones. This has happened with Disneyland Forever, which is no longer running. Its replacement,
Wondrous Journeys, an epic adventure through 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios, is coming on January 27. However, sadly, it looks like you'll just miss it. Oh, bother! Also, I'm afraid to say that
Fantasmic! is not being shown on the dates you're visiting. I'm so sorry, Rhiannon. I know that's not the news you wanted to hear. On the bright side, I guess that means you now have an excuse to come again!
I can tell you that
World of Color is still showing at
Disney California Adventure Park at 9:00 and 10:15 PM. My family and I adored this show. Here's a tip: Turn up an hour beforehand to get a good spot. However, since it's January, you probably don't want to be in the wet zone.
At Disneyland Park, you'll also be able to catch
Mickey's Mix Magic. This celebration of Mickey and Minnie Mouse turns Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, and the façade of “it’s a small world” into dazzling displays of sight, sound, and color.
I trust your kids will still have a marvelous time at the Disneyland Resort, Rhiannon. Thanks for choosing to be our Guest.
Mike
