Hey, Branda! Thanks for visiting us at planDisney. You must be very excited about your upcoming trip with your teenage daughters. Having teen/tween daughters myself, I can relate to the girls walking around on their own for a bit (especially for certain attractions that my tummy can’t handle anymore!)
My daughters have their own
Disneyland accounts, as they have their own email addresses with which we created accounts. They can manage nearly everything in the
Disneyland mobile app except make in-app purchases, as I cannot associate a credit card to their accounts.
For our recent trip, I had all our tickets linked to my account. I opened the Disneyland mobile app, went to “Tickets and Passes” and had each of them do the same. By clicking the “+” in the upper right of the screen, they were able to click “Link Tickets & Passes” and scan the barcode of each of our tickets from their respective phones. So, all three of us had all three of our tickets linked to each of our accounts.
Once we arrived at the parks, I added
Disney Genie+ service to our day (which I highly recommend, to save hours of time waiting in line!) I was able to purchase Genie+ for all our tickets. Once I purchased Genie+, because I had added it to their tickets as well, any of us could reserve
Lightning Lanes and scan Lightning Lane passes at the attractions.
A potential workaround to make purchases is to give your daughters Disney Gift Cards, which they can save to their phone/Apple Wallet and scan in-person for food and merchandise purchases. This gives them freedom to grab Disney snacks on their own!
I feel very fortunate to have made more Disney memories with my girls last week. Because we purchased Genie+, we had complimentary access to
Disney PhotoPass downloads all day. We took some silly photos together with the Disney PhotoPass Photographers and I know I will treasure those photos for years!
Have a magical vacation, Branda!
