DL newbies. We're looking for on the best place to view the fireworks and projection shows. Are there fireworks viewing parties like in WDW where you are able to view both? Are the FW shows as crowded as they are in WDW?

Hi Amanda! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by to send us your question.

I'm so excited for you to have your first-ever visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! As someone who often visits both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, I'm happy to help give you some advice. The dessert parties at Walt Disney World are so fun, and I have enjoyed those too! You will find that things are more close up and intimate at Disneyland Park. There are not currently any fireworks packages offered that include viewing fireworks. My favorite spot to watch the fireworks and projections is on Main Street, U.S.A. in front of Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and we usually arrive about 45 minutes before the start time. I like it because I have a good view of the projections and the castle. This spot doesn't have seating though, so if you prefer that I would suggest grabbing a spot early on one of the curbs close to Sleeping Beauty Castle

If you plan to visit Disney California Adventure Park, I highly recommend making reservations for the World of Color Dessert Party. This includes reserved seats and some treats and beverages. This nighttime spectacular is not to be missed and is approximately 24 minutes long, so it's nice to sit back and enjoy the show given the duration.

I hope this information helps with your planning! If you have more questions before you arrive, please feel free to send them to me at planDisney. I would love to help!

    Wishing you magic,
    Lisa
