Going to DL May 1-7! Have 4 and 2 year old. Staying at DL hotel, should I upgrade room/request specific location to enhance experience? Kids love pool & I really want to go for convenience to parks. Any must do dining? Itinerary help please! Thanks!!!

    Hi there Victoria,

You are gonna fall in love with the classic magic of the newly redesigned Disneyland Hotel!  I have had the pleasure of staying here several times since the makeover and to be honest, there really isn't an undesirable location.  All of the Towers are situated in a square, each opening up to the pool area, so no matter which one you're assigned, you're only a short stroll from the pool and the lobby area.

The upgraded and view rooms are located in the Dreams Tower and many look out over the pool, Downtown Disney, or the theme parks.  The Dreams Tower is the closest to Downtown Disney and just steps away from the monorail to Disneyland!

As far as restaurants go, my go to spots are Blue Bayou in Disneyland Park, Carthay Circle and Flo's V8 Cafe in California Adventure, Steakhouse 55 and Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel, Napa Rose at the Grand Californian, and Catal and Naples Pizzeria in Downtown Disney!

Honestly, you're staying the right amount of time to be able to relax and take it slow.  I would recommend utilizing your Park Hopper to bounce around as you please.  When I stay for extended periods, I like to kinda see how the day pans out!  I always begin at park opening and when I knock out the attractions I wanted to experience, I'll head over to the other park or Downtown Disney.  Everything is located just steps apart at Disneyland which makes things easy peasy!

Please write back if you'd like me to help with a day to day itinerary!
