Hi there, Heather! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am beyond thrilled that you and your family are headed to the Disneyland Resort for the first time! I have eaten at quite a few table service dining locations so I would be delighted to give you a few recommendations. For character dining, my absolute favorite is the Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn. At this meal, you will enjoy a delicious and varied breakfast buffet while meeting a whole bunch of your favorite characters. I was floored by how many characters visited our table the last time we were there! While the character line up is subject to change, we met Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, Tigger, Pooh, Rafiki, Max, and, of course, Minnie. I suggest starting your morning early and enjoying attractions and entertainment with minimal wait times and then plan for a reservation a little later in the morning. My next suggestion is Blue Bayou Restaurant because it not only features amazing cuisine, but the ambiance simply can't be beat. You will dine inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and have boats floating by on the bayou while you dine. If you can, arrive early to your reservation and request a table along the water. A few other of my favorites include Ariel's Grotto (especially if your kids are princess fans), Carnation Cafe, Catal Restaurant, and Wine Country Trattoria. Reservations for table service meals are highly recommended and can be made up to 60 days in advance online or by calling (714) 781-3463. Bon appetit! -Linda M.
