Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stephanie!
You're a guest after my own heart with wanting to learn as much as you can about your Walt Disney World® Resort hotel. When I'm trying a new Resort, I want to know as much as possible about my home-away-from-home.
I have had the opportunity to stay at
Disney's Contemporary Resort multiple times, and I have to say, my family really enjoys this classic Resort's pool deck. From the Feature Pool to the Bay Lake Pool, you'll find hours of fun for the whole family!
Disney is also wild about guest safety, so there are no diving boards available - there are actually no diving boards at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and guests are prohibited from diving in. The deepest section of the Contemporary's Feature Pool only reaches a max depth of four feet.
However, there is a super-fun, 17-foot waterslide and several water spray features around the middle area of the pool. You'll also find a splash pad if you should have a little Mouseketeer. Another great benefit, should your family tire of the water, there is a sand volleyball court on one side of the pool deck, and on the other side, near the marina, a pool table and several other "yard games." The only down side to this pool area is that it is very open, so there are not many shaded areas. Arrive early to grab chairs on the North side of the pool. For more information on the pools at this iconic Resort, and for a map of the pool deck, just select the highlighted link above.
I hope this is helpful, Stephanie! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. We had several fun-filled days at Disney's Contemporary Resort this past July, so I'm at the ready to help.
Happy swimming!
