We are going to Disneyworld in Sept of 2011 - we booked our vacation magic your way tickets and staying at Animal Kingdom- question is we didn't book the dining plan yet - trying to weigh the pros and cons - can you help?

    Hi Kurt!

The Dining Plan is not black and white.  Some guests save a lot of money by being on a Disney Dining Plan while other guests don't save much at all, and some even spend more by being on a plan.  You really have to do the math to see what makes the most sense for you.  I suggest picking out a few restaurants and then price out what you think it would cost you to dine there.  A great place to find menus for all of the restaurants at Walt Disney World is at the independent website AllEars.net.

If you want more dining advice, be sure to check out The Disney Food Blog which is ran by my friend AJ Wolfe.  She even as an e-book available on her site:  "The DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining".  It''s a great book with lots of advice!

Whatever you do, be sure to make advanced dining reservations.  ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 1-407-WDW-DIINE or online here.
