Is Disneyworld going to return to the Fast Pass system?

Hello and welcome, Karen! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney. I always love to see a fellow North Carolinian stop by with a question. I can see that your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth is later this year, you are going to have such a great time! I love visiting around that time of year, the parks are always so festive for the holidays.

Karen, as of right now the FastPass+ program has not yet returned to us. We have not received word if or when it may come back. Because the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are still operating at a limited capacity, it honestly really isn't needed at this time. I went to Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park just the other day and I was amazed at all of the must-do's we crossed off of our list. My number one piece of advice on navigating a theme park sans FastPasses is to arrive early. My family and I typically like to be at the parks anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to the listed opening time. This gives up plenty of time to park and go through security before heading off to the first attraction of the day. Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park opened at 8:00 a.m. the other day and we were in the parking lot walking up to the gates by 7:15 a.m. We had a fabulous morning. Right now, so groups don't congregate up at the front, they are actually allowing Guests to enter early and head to the first attraction of the day. By 10:45 we had done Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, DINOSAUR, played carnival games in DinoLand U.S.A., had snacks and even looked in some of the gift shops. It was awesome! Honestly, though, it's okay if you really aren't an early riser on vacation because we didn't get to Magic Kingdom Park until about 3:00 p.m. the other day and we still had a great time. We check off the list Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin twice, the Haunted Mansion, a few character cavalcades, snacks and shopping all in a few hours' time. So as you can tell, we have still been having an amazing time playing around the Walt Disney World Theme Parks without the use of FastPasses and I think you'll enjoy it too.

Karen, I suggest keeping an eye out over on the Disney Parks Blog. That's where we are seeing announcements made about things returning to Walt Disney World. If the FastPass+ program returns before your vacation, that's where we will find out all of the details. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
